STP rocks the Paul Paul

The Stone Temple Pilots rocked the Paul Paul theater at the Fresno Fair last Thursday for the second time. The fans were older than I expected. Then I realized these were the same folks that threw the devil fingers and pumped their fists to the music while caterwauling “Burnnnn, burn, burn … Burn your wicked garden down” the first time STP graced the stage over a decade ago.

It was obvious the younger fans grew up listening to and appreciating their parent’s music.

So with that demographic, let’s just say the guards had no issues with fans trying to mosh. Even Scott Weiland was dressed respectably (if you don’t count the skinny jeans). Good thing he didn’t try to incite us to riot. It was hard enough to dance and not break a hip.
