Recipes
Road Rally Race Flags: Made from stacks of sautéed or grilled veggies cut into squares. Stack squares with ricotta cheese in between, red and green bell peppers to make the squares. Cut a piece of whole wheat tortilla into a rectangle and bake until crisp then stack the veggie/cheese flags on top. Serve warm. These could be made with the bell pepper squares of different sizes (red is biggest and green is smallest, and the tortilla is cut into a rectangle with the top end wider than the bottom so it looks cartoony).
Pluto’s Veggie Skateboards: Made with sliced small zucchini rounds as the wheels, shaped carrot for the board, can decorate with cheese slices cut into shapes. Cut the carrot in a flat shape of the board and the zucchini into circle “wheels.” They would be resting on the wheels, very 3D.
Pete’s Sandy Sandwiches Made from tuna salad and cut into any shape desired. Round for wheels, big and small circles for Mickey’s Markers, triangles, ovals, quarter moons for the bushes etc…
Mickey Park Cheese and Fruit Plate: Cheese and apple slices cut out to look like the bushes in stars, quarter moons, triangles, squares, ovals, and diamonds.
Special Surprise that Flies! Snacks: “Balloon” snacks. Movie snack mix can be made with dried fruit, raw nuts, air popped popcorn. If preferred, it could be served in small brown bags or small bags made with colored paper to look like the special surprise balloons released when Mickey Markers are found in the movie. You could even include cut-out character faces for guests to glue to bags to be exact matches from the movie.
Toodle’s Mini-Pizza O’s — decorate mini pizzas to look like Toodles.
Mickey Markers: Whole wheat bread cut into Mickey’s Markers, bush shapes, or balloons, toasted and served with a dip (red bell pepper hummus).

I have 2 favorite Mickey Mouse moments just from this year. We went to Disney World in May and it was my youngest’s first time going. She was 13 months old at the time and she loves Mickey Mouse. We were at Animal Kingdom waiting to meet Mickey when she saw him and just started squealing and laughing! My next favorite moment was the morning we were going back home. We had a reservation for Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort for breakfast. All the gang came around and we got pictures and autographs and my girls loved that but when Mickey came out my baby did something she hadn’t done with the other characters. She gave him 2 kisses on the nose! It was one of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen.
What a wonderful, sweet moment! Thank you so much for sharing.
I took my oldest son to Disneyland when he was 9, and he was so excited to visit Mickey at his house, and get a picture with him. That picture to this day is one of the best pictures of my son, he is just SOO happy, and relaxed.
Awwww! Mickey Mouse really crosses the generations.
We took our oldest daughter to Disneyland for the first time for her fifth birthday – she was so excited. While she liked the rollercoasters and attractions, Minnie Mouse’s house was by far her favorite spot. She went through the house FOUR TIMES!
LOL, can’t get enough of a great thing. Did you get pics of her going through the house?
Mickey Mouse just makes you smile! I’ve “met” him at Disney World several times with different children in tow, and it’s nice to see something that makes kids happy, and will continue to do so for generations to come!
Oh absolutely, I remember my mom talking about doing to Disneyland when she was a kid. I don’t think those magic moments ever fade.
My favorite Mickey moment was the first time I met Mickey in Disneyworld at Chef Mickey’s for breakfast! I was there with the whole family and it was so much fun to enjoy breakfast with my family and meet and take pictures with Mickey and all his friends!!
Now that’s a fun breakfast. We did something similar some years back at Disneyland. My oldest son, much younger then, lovedddd it. Can’t wait to take the two youngest.
I love Mickey Mouse! I will always keep my first pair of Mickey Mouse ears that I got from Disneyland when I was 4 and went to the park for the first time. I also will never forget the first time I saw a Mickey Mouse cartoon- i think my parents still have it on VHS! Mickey is an icon!
Oh my goodness, your parents still have it on VHS? That’s like me saying I still have something on 8-track tape. LOL. Do kids still get Mickey ears when they go for a visit?
I am 31 years old and still an annual membership card holder. I have recently moved away from California – so find myself tuning in to Disney Channel, especially Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, to feel closer to home
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of those cartoons I turn on for my kids. Love the music and vibrancy of it. How far from California did you go?
I love the iconic Mickey Mouse! I try and visit Disneyland at least once a year and my first stop will always be Mickey’s toon town.
I was in my 30s the first time I went to Disneyland and was really impressed with the incredible detail they put into everything. Haven’t been back yet, but planning to with the two youngest. You’ll have to give me the scoop!
I LOVE Mickey Mouse, and the above cheese/fruit platter reminded me how much fun it is to hunt around for “hidden Mickeys” whenever I go to Disney World.
There are hidden Mickeys? I didn’t know that. Will have to keep an eye out next time.
I remember watching Mickey Mouse on VHS as a kid, my sister and I used to play those tapes over and over on the weekends…we loved it. We even had matching Mickey Mouse sheets!
Grew up w/o a TV, so no memories there…my son LOVES mickey mouse clubhouse, though, and he told me he wanted to “move back to the old house so he could watch [it].” (We don’t have cable here).
I really enyo all the special things that are taught in the Mickey mouse Clubhouse episodes. i’m sure my son will have his kids watching it too.
