Wow. I had no idea Gene had passed away.

Did you know I worked at Drake-Chenault from 1980-1983? In those offices in Canoga Park. I remember him well. Also Bill Watson (who was my boss) and Charlie Van Dyke (who hosted a Top 30 countdown show I wrote and produced at that time).

Thanks for bringing back those memories.

I’m excited for Bonnie as well. Once the teen crowd starts reading her series, she’s going to get some great feedback.

My question: Why did Bonnie choose to have a female main character rather than a male? Is it that more teen girls would be interested in th subject matter rather than boys?

The Aries Rising tour seems so unique. I am fascinated with the social networking process. You are the teacher.
The Logan McRae series is just spectacular. The interplay of the story and her journal, along with her reading from Fearless Astrology makes the Star Crossed series a standout.

Of course, I love “Glee.” Let’s not get confused on that and OMG saw a commercial for the start of the season.

Oh wait, I got of topic. See what happens when I read Glee? I automatically think of a boy doing a high kick in full-football gear. BEST. EVAH!

I blame this all on Kai-Lan. My 4-year-old is always proclaiming that things “make his heart super happy,” just like that cartoon character does. He also tries the “stick the bottom lip out so far he’s at risk of tripping on it” pout. It still doesn’t get him candy or MarioKart. I just can’t make life wonderful for him all the time.

My 6-year-old is learning this lesson, too, during the current indoor soccer season when he’s been “stuck” playing defense the entire time. He hates it more than he hates dolls, ponies and the color pink combined. I’m chuckling to myself each time he gripes, though, because learning to be part of a team is an experience he needed. Down the road, it’s going to be far more valuable than if the coach had let him play where he wanted.

Yes, there IS more to life than happy. There’s resilience, and that’s a trait that’s going to carry a kid much farther than wall-to-wall glee.
